The agro-forestry-fishery sector recorded a trade surplus of close to 3.3 billion USD in the first five months of 2020, a decline of a mere 2.3 percent year-on-year.
Agro-forestry-fishery exports are estimated to have yielded 8.8 billion USD in the year’s first quarter, a year-on-year fall of 2.9 percent, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has said.
The export turnover of agro-forestry-fishery products in July was estimated at 2.85 billion USD, bringing the total value in the first seven months of 2018 to 22.2 billion USD, a year-on-year rise of 7.8 percent.
Vietnam’s exports of agricultural products are expected to face more challenges by the end of the year, so enterprises must follow market developments at home and abroad and improve the quality of their products, according to experts.
