“Dien” pomelos from Yen Thuy district in the northern province of Hoa Binh are now on the shelves of Longdan supermarkets in the UK for the first time and been welcomed by the Vietnamese community and local consumers.
After more than five years of negotiations, the US has officially licensed the import of fresh pomelo from Vietnam, with green-skin pomelo from Ben Tre province selected for the first shipment. The move comes as a result of the province’s efforts to boost production and exports of agricultural products and opens up prospects for its products to conquer other selective markets.
After over five years of negotiations, the US Department of Agriculture has officially licensed the import of fresh pomelo from Vietnam, an official has said.
Vietnamese pomelo has large potential for entering deanding markets including the US, the EU and Japan, according to the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency.
Vietnam has great potential to increase fruit exports to the US in the future, said Hoang Trung, director of the Plant Protection Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
