The People’s Procuracy of Thoi Lai district, Can Tho city, has issued an indictment prosecuting a man and his accomplices for “abusing the rights to freedom and democracy to violate the interests of the State, the rights and legitimate interests of organisations and individuals.”
A Facebooker in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho has been sentenced to 18 months in prison on charge of “taking advantage of the rights to freedom and democracy to infringe upon State interests, legitimate rights and interests of organisations and individuals” in accordance with Article 331 of the 2015 Criminal Code.
Blogger Nguyen Huu Vinh and his assistant Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy were imprisoned for five and three years, respectively, on the charge of abusing democratic freedom to infringe on the State interests.
