The Philippines has expanded the temporary ban on the importation, distribution and sale of pork meat products from 16 to 20 countries and regions affected by the African swine fever (ASF) virus.
The northern mountainous province of Lai Chau announced its first African swine fever (ASF) outbreak on March 19, raising the total number of disease-hit localities nationwide to 20.
A reaction plan to the African swine fever (ASF) is being developed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development after pigs were found infected with the disease in neighbouring countries.
