Thai chicken exports rose less than expected in the first half of this year due to COVID-19, according to the Thai Broiler Processing Exporters Association (TBPEA).
Thailand's pork and chicken exports have soared significantly as pork production in many countries has dropped due to African swine fever (ASF), said the Thai Ministry of Commerce's Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE).
The Koyu & Unitek Company, based in the southern province of Dong Nai, plans to develop a second chicken processing factory to meet the demand for chicken products of the Japanese market.
Vietnam plans to export chicken to Japan from 2017 and expand chicken export markets to other Asian countries in 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said.
