Head coach of Vietnam's U18 football team Hoang Anh Tuan has resigned after his team was disqualified from the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U18 Championship in Ho Chi Minh City on August 15.

Vietnam are ready to face defending champions Malaysia in its first match of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U18 Championship at Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City on August 7.

Vietnam tied 0-0 with Myanmar in the second match of the four-side International U18 Football Tournament in Hong Kong on April 20.

Vietnam will face Singapore, Myanmar and hosts Hong Kong in an U18 tournament later this month.

Vietnam’s U19 football squad beat China’s U19 team 1-0 in a friendly match held in Indonesia on October 14 with the only goal scored by Nham Manh Dung at the 65th minute.

Vietnam’s U19 team lost to Qatar 1-4 in the first match of the four-nation international friendly tournament held in Qatar on September 16.

U19 Vietnamese footballers are in Indonesia for the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U19 Youth Championship which is scheduled to take place in Indonesia from July 1-14.

Vietnam U20 coach Hoang Anh Tuan said the upcoming friendly match between his team and Argentina on May 10 will be final rehearsal for the FIFA U20 World Cup in the Republic of Korea between May and June 2017.

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan will introduce a different squad at the coming Asian U19 Football Championship in Bahrain.
