The Vietnam Science and Technology Joint Stock Company (BUSADCO) has gained positive results in using assembled concrete components in the protection of riverbanks, lakes and dykes in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, contributing to preventing coastal erosion.
National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on November 25 emphasised the urgent need to prevent and control riverbank and coastal erosion with the joint involvement of ministries, sectors, local authorities, organisations, businesses and people.
Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung has visited the southernmost province of Ca Mau to inspect landslide points along a sea dyke route in Tran Van Thoi district, which is at risk of breaking.
The protection of submered forests means conserving the environment in the most sustainable way as they play a key role in coastal erosion prevention, biodiversity protection and livelihood provision, a high-ranking official said on May 31.
