Japanese beverage company Kirin Holdings is stepping up support for coffee growers in Vietnam, amid a growing consumer demand for sustainable products.

Coffee farms in the Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) province of Kon Tum are producing higher yields from new coffee trees and older trees grafter with with young shoots.

Legendary golfer Greg Norman, who was appointed as Tourism Ambassador of Vietnam for 2018-2021, has promised to promote Vietnamese coffee to the world.

The Government of Vietnam has been implementing drastic measures to increase forest coverage in the Central Highlands region, while improving output of coffee and high value crops in easing deforestation.

The 2017-18 coffee crop is expected to yield around 1.4 million, which is equal to or slightly lower than last year’s harvest, according to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association.
