Vietnam’s exports of fruits and vegetables to major markets like the US, the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Thailand have surged despite the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide.
Exports of fruits and vegetables for the whole year are likely to reach 3.8 billion USD thanks to comprehensive measures taken by the agricultural sector, according to Nguyen Quoc Toan, Acting Director of the Department of Farm Produce Processing and Market Development under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Vietnam’s exports of fruits and vegetables hit 3.34 billion USD as by December 15, a surge of 45 percent year on year, surpassing 2016’s revenue of 2.457 billion USD.
Exports of fruits and vegetables in the first nine months of the year are estimated at 2.64 billion USD, a year-on-year surge of 44.2 percent, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
