The Hanoi People’s Court on June 1 sentenced Nguyen Van Pho to five years in prison for violating regulations on the protection of endangered, precious and rare animals.

The People’s Court of the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre has sentenced Nguyen Van Cong Em to five years in jail for “making, storing, spreading information, materials, items for the purpose of opposing the State of Socialist Republic of Vietnam” under Article 117 of the 2015 Criminal Code.

The People’s Court of Nghe An province has given five years in jail to Nguyen Van Oai for “resisting on-duty officials,” and “not serving the sentence” at a second instance trial in Vinh city.

The Phnom Penh court on August 25 sentenced Sourn Serey Ratha, President of the Khmer Power Party, to five years in prison for slandering and damaging the prestige of the Cambodia’s Royal Armed Forces.
