Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong chaired a Central Military Commission meeting on November 30 to approve a draft resolution on leadership in the implementation of military-defence tasks and Party building in 2021, and a report on the realisation of military-defence missions in 2020 and orientations and tasks for 2021.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on December 9 lauded the Defence Ministry’s performance through the year in giving strategic advice to the Party and State in military-related issues, as well as effectively dealing with different circumstances.
The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence held a political-military conference in Hanoi on June 28 to review the outcomes of military and defence work in the first half of 2018 and launch tasks for the remaining months.
Amid complicated and unpredictable global and regional situations, the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) must always stay alert and continually improve its combat strength so as to deserve being the faithful and trustworthy political and combat force of the Party, State and people.
