The General Statistics Office started a national population and housing census on April 1 to evaluate national targets and indicators of sustainable development.

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue on March 13 requested thorough preparations for the once-in-a-decade national population and housing census that is scheduled to begin on April 1.

The General Statistics Office has announced that the 2019 national population and housing census will begin on April 1 next year.

The fifth national population and housing census in Vietnam will be conducted in April 2019, according to a decision issued by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The Prime Minister has issued Directive 44/CT-TTg on the organisation of the fifth national population and housing census in April, 2019.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has launched the National Statistical Survey Programme, which consists of three national survey censuses and 11 statistical surveys.
