The State-run Vietnam Asset Management Company (VAMC) is in the process of founding a debt trading floor for managing and updating information on debts, according to its latest report.
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) is drafting a new circular regulating credit institutions’ trading and handling of non-performing loans (NPL) with the aim of forcing the institutions to focus more on bad debt settlement.
Commercial banks offloaded a large volume of non-performing loans (NPLs) to the Vietnam Asset Management Company (VAMC) in 2015 to reduce the bad debt rate to below 3 percent.
