The National Assembly (NA) will elect the State President at the beginning of the sixth session, said NA General Secretary and Chairman of the NA Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc at the NA Standing Committee’s 28th meeting on October 16.

The Myanmar’s Union Parliament will elect its president on March 15 after the presidential nominee committee completes its work, said Aye Thar Aung, Deputy Speaker of the Union Parliament.

The Myanmar’s Union Parliament on March 1 set March 10 for presidential run, one week earlier as the previous schedule.

Myanmar’s newly elected Union Parliament convenes the first session in Nay Pyi Taw on February 8.
