Despite certain difficulties facing the property market, there remain numerous opportunities for investors to earn money from real estate stocks, according to insiders.

With banks tightening credit to the property sector, developers should look at the stock market for capital, experts told a workshop on “Potential and opportunities for investment in property stocks on November 30.

Amid narrowing credit sources and rising lending interest rates, property developers have been diversifying their capital mobilisation channels, including calling for foreign investment.

Shares plummeted on July 3 as strong selling pressure pushed the benchmark VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) and the HNX-Index on the Hanoi Exchange (HNX) to hit rock bottom in 2018.

The benchmark VN-Index bounced back above 710 points on February 20, boosted by strong investments in property stocks as investors sought new opportunities in speculative shares.

Trading in real estate stocks has shot up in the last month, with the volume reaching a total of 1.1 billion shares, a seminar heard in HCM City on July 25.

Vietnamese shares rose on both local markets on March 10. Financial firms, including banks, insurance companies and brokerage firms, made gains.
