The Muan International Airport in the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s South Jeolla province will allow the resumption of international flights, including those to Vietnam, this July.
Vietnamese expats living in Europe hope authorities from both sides to work together so as to soon resume international flights, allowing them to visit family back home, according to Hoang Dinh Thang, Chairman of the Union of Vietnamese People Associations in Europe.
The operation of flights must be done strictly for right people and in line with Vietnam’s medical requirements for people entering the nation, said Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang while informing the press on the resumption of international flights and the recognition of vaccine passports.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has proposed the Ministry of Transport a plan to resume international flights, including combo flights for Vietnamese citizens in routes connecting Vietnam with Japan, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China), Singapore Thailand, Malaysia, France, Germany, Russia, and Australia.
Although “vaccine passports” are yet to become official, airlines are nonetheless preparing for the resumption of international flights based on their introduction.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has submitted a plan on the reopening of international flights in three stages to the Ministry of Transport.
Vietnam is advised to promptly negotiate with countries that have efficiently curbed the spread of COVID-19 in a bid to create travel bubbles and gradually resume international tourism in a practical manner.
