Vu Phong Energy Group JSC and British power firm Shire Oak International have signed a deal to develop rooftop solar power systems at factories run by the Republic of Korea’s Hwaseung Enterprise Co. Ltd. in Vietnam.
Solar experts have raised difficulties and problems in policies and procedures for investment, installation and operation of solar power systems in Vietnam at a seminar.
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) launched on September 10 an 18 million USD project to provide solar power systems to rural communities in four provinces across Indonesia.
More than 5,000 households in the central and Central Highlands regions have installed roof-top solar power systems with a total capacity of 150 MWp, generating 85.46 million kWh of electricity to the national grid.
The Electricity Vietnam’s Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) aims to raise rooftop solar power output to 48 MWp this year, said the company on June 18.
Instead of spending tens of billions of dong to install solar power systems, several enterprises are renting solar power system to save operating costs, reduce electricity bills and promote clean energy development.
