The incomes of people living in coastal areas in the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang have improved under the coastal resources for sustainable development project implemented since 2012, local authorities said.
Regional cooperation to preserve the marine environment and ensure sustainable fisheries management and food security in the ASEAN region will be the focus of discussion at an international workshop to be held in Nha Trang in the central province of Khanh Hoa from May 13-15.
The central province of Phu Yen has embarked on a project “Coastal
resources for sustainable development”, an endeavour co-funded by the
Vietnamese government and the World Bank’s International Development
Association.
The Board of Executive Directors of the World Bank Group has approved an
addition aid worth 6.5 million USD for the “Coastal Resources for
Sustainable Development” project in Vietnam .
