Vietnam supports joint efforts by the United Nations (UN) and the African Union (AU) to promote peace in Africa, Ambassador Pham Hai Anh, deputy head of the Vietnamese mission to the UN, has said.
Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, head of the Vietnamese mission to the UN, highly valued encouraging developments in South Sudan since the formation of the Transitional Government this year, during a UN Security Council (UNSC) video teleconference on the situation in the African country on September 16.
A Vietnamese diplomat underlined the importance of promoting the transitional period and fully implementing the peace agreement in South Sudan while attending the UN Security Council’s online meeting on this country’s situation and activities of the UN Mission there (UNMISS) on June 23.
Vietnam expressed support for justice guarantee as one of the pillars in Sudan’s transitional period, during an online meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in New York on June 10.
