Vietnam shipped abroad some 3.76 million tonnes of rice worth 1.69 billion USD between January and September, dropping 16.4 percent in volume and 12.5 percent in value from a year earlier.

the two months’ figure, 1.73 billion USD is from shipping abroad major
farm produce, down 20.5 percent from the same period last year.
The Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang has recorded an export
turnover of nearly 481 million USD so far this year, increasing 14.63
percent over the same period last year.
The Vietnam Food Association (VFA) plans to purchase 1 million tonnes of
summer-autumn rice between July 15 and August 30, but enterprises are
concerned over a lack of capital for purchasing activities.
The nation’s agro-forestry and fisheries export revenues exceeded 10
billion USD in the first five months of the year, a year-on-year rise of
41.5 percent, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD)
said.
