National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on April 30 attended a ceremony to hand over a RO water purifier to the authority of Giong Trom district in the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre which aims to meet the demand of fresh water for local people.
Tighter regulations are needed to ensure good quality water is sourced for years to come, according to Nguyen Thi Hong Khanh, from the Ministry of Construction’s Technological Infrastructure Department.
The quality of tap water in Ho Chi Minh City is being closely monitored by production and distribution units as well as independent agencies such as the city’s Preventive Medicine Centre and district-level preventive health centres.
