The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs on November 14 announced a study report on women migrant workers in ASEAN countries’ laws and policies.
Vietnam has become one of the successful models in gender equality promotion by issuing necessary legal mechanisms in the field, including the law on gender equality, the law on domestic violence prevention and the national strategy on gender equality, said Moroccan Ambassador to Vietnam Jamale Chouaibi.
About 50 Vietnamese diplomats were provided with training on delivering coordinated quality services to women migrant workers subject to violence in Hanoi on October 15.
A workshop is being held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UN Women in Hanoi on October 2 and 3 to enhance capacity for diplomats in protecting female migrant workers from violence.
