Telecom providers diversify services

Military-run telecom Viettel will provide its users with 1.3 million new mobile phone numbers starting with 096.

Accordingly, the company has become the only provider owning multi-number networks in the local telecom market.

Meanwhile, Saigon Postel (STP) has been allowed to shift from CDMA to 3G technology.

STP was required by the Ministry of Information and Communication toensure the rights and interests of subscribers and implement measures tomake sure their telecom network works well.

In itsown move, MobiFone will offer a newspaper-reading service via MMS(Multimedia Messaging Service) to its mobile subscribers.

Such a service will cover general news, sports, entertainment and economic news.

To use this service, subscribers will need internet connections, support and the ability to receive MMS messages.-VNA

DNA testing capacity expanded to identify over 207,000 martyrs’ remains

By September 2026, Steering Committee 515 had collected samples from the remains of 207,656 martyrs, achieving 98.15% of the goal. Nearly 120,000 samples have been received and preserved. Additionally, authorities gathered 265,761 DNA samples from martyrs’ relatives, with about 100,000 analysed and around 80,000 results entered into the database.
