Telegraph lauds Vietnam’s north-south express train

The UK-based Telegraph newspaper has unveiled a list of the top ten best train journeys in Asia for international visitors in 2018, and it comes as a great surprise that Vietnam’s North-South railway line is on the list.

HCM City (VNA)  — The UK-based Telegraph newspaper has unveiled a list of the top ten besttrain journeys in Asia for international visitors in 2018, and it comes as agreat surprise that Vietnam’s North-South railway line is on the list.

Onthe website www.telegraph.co.uk,a tour is recommended on the express train Thong Nhat (Reunification)connecting Hanoi and HCM City, and running through many Vietnam’s famous touristdestinations such as Hue, Da Nang and Nha Trang.

Accordingto the UK newspaper, passengers travel on a 1,600-km journey along peacefullandscapes of ancient pagodas, paddy fields and farmers wearing conical hats.

Lastyear, the UK-based travel site Rough Guides also named the route one of themost scenic in Asia.

Vietnam’srailway line boasts a deep-rooted history as the French built the country’sfirst railway section spanning 70 km from Saigon to the Mekong Delta city ofMy Tho in 1881, marking the birth of the country’s railway system. -VNA
