Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese tennis player Ly Hoang Nam jumped up 49 places in the latest Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) men’s singles rankings announced on October 17.
Nam advanced from world number 683 to 634, representing his best career ranking and the highest a Vietnamese player has ever ranked.
Nam improved his position after winning in the first round of the Vietnam Open 2016 in HCM City.
In the men’s doubles, both Nam and Nguyen Hoang Thien went up after the pair’s victory in the first round of the Vietnam Open 2016.
Nam advanced 111 spots to 707, while Thien jumped 126 places to 775.-VNA
