Hanoi (VNA) – A Tet Doc Lap or Independent Holliday celebration will be held from September 1-30 at the Culture and Tourism Village of Vietnamese ethnic groups in Hanoi to mark the 71th anniversary of National Day (September 2), according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Nearly 100 people from nine ethnic groups, including artisans and heads of villages, from Mong, Thai, Kho Mu, Dao in the northern mountainous province of Son La along with artisans will perform at the village.
The programme will reenact a cultural space imbued with colours of ethnic groups in the country’s northwestern and northeastern regions and its main event will be the cultural space of the Tay Bac market with the theme “Son La regular market welcomes Tet.”
Local specialties and dishes will be displayed at the market.
Rituals and traditional customs will be performed as well as will art and dance programmes by ethnic groups like the Thai in Nghe An province, Muong in Hoa Binh province, Tay in Thai Nguyen province, Dao in Hanoi, Kho Mu in Dien Bien province, E De in Dak Lak province, Ba Na in Gia Lai province and Khmer in Soc Trang.-VNA
