Bangkok ((NNT/VNA) - The Thai boys' football team and their coach, who have been rescued from a flooded cave, will visit foreign countries from October 3-15 to thank them for taking part in the rescue operation. 

The 12 boys and their coach will travel to Argentina and the US respectively to participate in the opening ceremony of the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires. 

In the US, they will attend a ceremony to present the Asia Game Changer Award by Asia Society to Provincial Governor of Phayao Narongsak Osotthanakorn, the commander of the rescue operation. 

The government said the boys and their coach had been invited as strong young athletes, not as heroes. The trip is also a good opportunity for them to thank the global community for its support for the rescue operation, government said.-NNT/VNA
