More than 600 leading businesspeople from aroundthe world are set to gather in the Thai capital city of Bangkok forthe event, which is scheduled for May 30-June 1, said Minister Attachedto the Prime Minister's Office Nivatthamrong Boonsongpaisal.

The gathering of world businesspeople in the Thai capital will be the largest it has ever welcomed, Nivatthamrong said.

He added that the government hopes to take this year's WEF on EastAsia as a platform to boost international investor confidence inThailand after it has survived the worst flood in decades last year.

Concerning the PR campaign, the PM's Office Ministersaid that news and information will be distributed via both local andforeign media and through a special collaboration from Thai AirwaysInternational, under the budget of over 50 million THB (1.6 millionUSD).-VNA/NNT
