More than 600 leading businesspeople from around the world are set to gather in the Thai capital city of Bangkok for the event, which is scheduled for May 30-June 1, said Minister Attached to the Prime Minister's Office Nivatthamrong Boonsongpaisal.

The gathering of world businesspeople in the Thai capital will be the largest it has ever welcomed, Nivatthamrong said.

He added that the government hopes to take this year's WEF on East Asia as a platform to boost international investor confidence in Thailand after it has survived the worst flood in decades last year.

Concerning the PR campaign, the PM's Office Minister said that news and information will be distributed via both local and foreign media and through a special collaboration from Thai Airways International, under the budget of over 50 million THB (1.6 million USD).-VNA/NNT
