The vessel’s head, Rear Admiral Wasan Boonneung, who is Deputy Director of the Maritime Enforcement Coordinating Center in the First Naval Area, was hosted by local authorities the same day.

Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Tat Thanh Cang highlighted that the visit of the Royal Thai Navy’s ship will contribute to cementing the Vietnam-Thailand ties, which have expanded across such sectors as trade, tourism and diplomacy.

Ho Chi Minh City and Thailand have also launched a number of joint activities, particularly in commerce and investment, Cang stated.

Agreeing with his host, the Thai officer hoped that the city will create favourable conditions for Thai businesses to carry out market research and invest in the southern hub.-VNA
