Thai Nguyen tea honoured at North America tea competition 2017

Thai Nguyen (VNA) – “Dinh Vuong Pham” teamanufactured by Tan Cuong Hoang Binh Tea JSC has won overall award in the NorthAmerica international specialty tea competition held in the US state of Arizonafrom August 2017. 

Co-hosted by the US and Canadian tea associations, the eventattracted tea producers and exporters from Argentina, India, Japan, Kenya,Malawi, Rwanda and Vietnam, a representative from the Ministry of Industry andTrade’s Trade Promotion Agency said in the northern province of Thai Nguyen onNovember 2.

The company joined the competition with the support of themanagement board of the programme “Enhancing export competitiveness of smalland medium-sized Vietnamese enterprises” funded by the Swiss State Secretariatfor Economic Affairs, the Trade Promotion Agency, the provincial Department ofIndustry and Trade and foreign consultants.

“Dinh Vuong Pham” tea includes natural green tea; and lotus,grapefruit flower, magnolia and white jade flower-flavoured green tea. They aretender tea buds which are harvested before sunrise and processed immediately toprevent fermentation.

Over the course of more than 15 years, Tan Cuong Hoang Binh TeaJSC has built a cultivation zone under VietGAP standards in well-known TanCuong tea region in Thai Nguyen. Its tea products are recognised as“High-quality Vietnamese Goods” and exported to the UK, France, Germany, Russiaand China.

On the occasion, the provincial authorities presented acertificate of merit to the company and held a workshop to discuss experiencein promoting Vietnamese premium tea brand in the US, opportunities andchallenges in building new images for Vietnamese premium tea, and teaconsumption trend in the world.

Earlier in 2016, Green Tea, Extra Special brand by Ha ThaiTea Company in Thai Nguyen won the silver award in the competition.-VNA
