Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Aug. 23 presented her government's short and long-term policies to the joint parliament meeting, including 484 MPs and 147 senators.
She said the Pheu Thai-led government would implement eight policies, including urgent policies, the national security policy, the economic policy, the policy on society and quality of life, the policy on natural resources and environment, the policy on science and technology, research and innovation, the policy on foreign affairs and international economics, and the policy on good governance.
Yingluck said her government would implement these policies in short and long-term phases.
The government planned to implement 16 urgent policies, including political reconciliation, drug trafficking crime fighting, corporate tax reduction and provision of soft loans to the poor.
Other policies will be implemented during the four-year term./.
