Thailand’s caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has requested a postponement of her testimony over her alleged violation of the constitution in connection with the transfer of personnel several years ago.

“The Nation” quoted Constitutional Court chief spokesman Pimol Thammapitakpong as saying that Yingluck's lawyer submitted the petition to the court requesting her defence statement be postponed 15 days from April 18.

However, the court is yet to decide whether it accepts her request or not, he said.

Earlier this month, the court accepted the case which was filed by a group of senators who argued that Yingluck’s replacement of then-national security chief Thawil Pliensri – a supporter of the opposition party violated the constitution.

The case came after the Thai Supreme Administrative Court in March ordered Yingluck to reinstate Thawil, saying his transfer was unlawful.-VNA
