Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has been conferred an honorary doctoral degree in veterinary medicine at a recent ceremony hosted by Khon Kaen University in Khon Kaen province.
The university presented the Princess the degree in recognition of her great contribution to animal caring and protection, academic development of the knowledge in this field, as well as her assistance to farmers who raise animals as a profession.
In the 2011 academic year, Khon Kaen University granted bachelor’s and post-graduate degrees to 9,301 students, aside from honorary doctorates to 10 former students and current personnel who had contributed to the development of the university and the nation.-VNA
