Thailand's Udon Thani has won a renewed fame when CNN proclaimed the province's Bua Dang the second strangest lake in the world and its dance was confirmed by the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest Thai dance in the world.
On January 18, 2014, Udon Thani staged a mass dance to pay homage to its founder Krom Luang Prajak Silapakom with the participation of 5,255 people. The dance broke the previous record set in Chonburi, with 5,121 participants.
According to Seni Jitkasem, Governor of Udon Thani, the participants were dancing at Krom Luang Prajak Silapakom Ground, in front of the Rajabhat Udon Thani University . They wore the same traditional costume and dance in the same traditional pattern.-VNA
