The Thai Department of Tourism has indicated that the country’s tourism sector started to show signs of recovery after the government launched measures to boost confidence of tourists.

Director-General of the Department Anuphap Kesonsuwan said more tourists visited Thailand this month as Chinese celebrated their National Day by coming to the kingdom.

Another reason for the tourism growth was better confidence of tourists in East Asia and Europe, which are Thailand’s main tourist markets, said the official.

Positive factors for the sector to grow in the last three months include more stable politics, clear implementation of government projects, and solutions to tourism problems.

In the first nine months of the year, more than 17.5 million tourists visited Thailand, generating over 860 billion THB.-VNA
