Thailand aims for 69 bln USD from tourism by 2015

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a marketing campaign to net about 69 billion USD from both local and foreign visitors by 2015.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a marketingcampaign to net about 69 billion USD from both local and foreignvisitors by 2015.

Thailand’s English-language newspaper “TheNation” quoted TAT Governor Thawatchai Arunyik as saying reportedly thatthe authority expects up to 28.9 million foreign visitors next year.

He said foreign arrivals to Thai will be 26 million this year,generating 44 billion USD in revenue to the sector, up 15 percentyear-on-year.

TAT has also lined up action plans andstrategies for local and international markets under the long-running"Amazing Thailand" campaign.-VNA

Thailand’s business activity shows signs of gradual recovery

As of August 31, Thailand had more than 1 million active legal entities with total registered capital of 24.13 trillion THB. The service sector accounted for the largest share, with 552,830 entities, or 54.48%, followed by wholesale and retail with 332,791 entities (32.79%) and manufacturing with 129,215 (12.73%).
