Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha and visiting Chinese State Councilor Yang Jing vowed to push cooperation forward in railway development and tourism.
At the meeting, the Thai Prime Minister spoke highly of the importance of enhancing relations with China while expressing his hope to learn from their state management.
He added that Thailand welcomes China’s cooperation initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative and commits to participating proactively.
The Southeast Asian country is also willing to promote collaboration with China across railway, agriculture and tourism as well as enhance personnel exchanges.
For his part, Yang Jing highlighted that ties between the two countries have developed well with frequent high-level exchanges and practical cooperation, adding that China will work closely with Thailand to facilitate railway collaboration and infrastructure construction in line with the framework of the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative.
He also pledged to boost cooperation with Thailand in trade, tourism and law-enforcement.
On the occasion, Yang Jing will meet with Thai Deputy Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tanasak Patimapragorn and President of the National Legislative Assembly Pornpetch Wichitcholchai.-VNA
