Floods have killed 7 people and affected more than 8,000 households in 18 provinces throughout Thailand, according to the National News Bureau of Thailand (NNT).
Heavy rains brought by a low pressure cell over the lower parts of the north have resulted in floods in the 18 provinces including Mae Hong Son, Lam Pang, Samut Prakan, Nakhon Ratchasima, Sukhothai, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai.
The NNT on September 2 quoted the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) as saying that the floods have eased but more storms and flash floods are still expected in many parts of Thailand.
