Bangkok (VNA) – The Government Public Relations Department and the Royal Photographic Society of Thailand has granted prizes and exhibited the winning works of the ASEAN 2019 photo contest.
Themed “Pride of ASEAN”, the competition in March, part of the country’s efforts to promote its images as the ASEAN Chair this year, attracted 5,235 entries from photographers across the country.
The first prize winning photo is “Kalasin's Sea of Tung” taken by Jamikorn Srikham. The two runners-up are “Paying Homage to Pha That Luang Vientiane” by Sanchai Buasong and “Bathing the Buddha” by Jirapong Wongwiwat.
Fifty other works also received honourary mention recognition.
The organising board said all the winning photos will be published in photo books which will be presented to leaders attending the 35th ASEAN Summit in Bangkok from November 2-4.-VNA
