Thailand hosts 2024 ASEAN Recycling Metals Int’l Conference

Nearly 600 government officials, experts, and representatives of companies and associations from 24 countries and regions attended the 2024 ASEAN Recycling Metals International Conference in Bangkok from June 17-19 to share their views and actions on achieving high-quality development in recycling metals at an industry conference.

Hanoi (VNA) – Nearly 600 government officials, experts, and representatives of companies and associations from 24 countries and regions attended the 2024 ASEAN Recycling Metals International Conference in Bangkok from June 17-19 to share their views and actions on achieving high-quality development in recycling metals at an industry conference.

Hosted by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA) and organised by the association's recycling metal branch along with other organisations, the conference went under the theme "Innovative Development Together, Sharing a Green Future", covering various topics including Thailand's industrial development and investment environment, and exploring market opportunities in Southeast Asia.

Wang Jiwei, Deputy Secretary General of CNIA, highlighted the global trend of diversified layout, regional cooperation and accelerated digital transformation in the recycling nonferrous metals industry, emphasising the need to accurately grasp the new situation and seize new opportunities.

Participants acknowledged that in the context of the increasing number of new energy vehicles, the demand for nonferrous metal recycling will increase, helping increase opportunities for cooperation between countries. The conference provided a valuable platform for the exchange of ideas between relevant businesses from various countries and regions.

They also made known knowledge of nonferrous metal recycling, related policies, and industrial development trends, along with the latest policies, plans, and incentives as well as the status and challenges facing each country's industry./.
