Thailand hosts int’l fair to boost ASEAN logistics connection

The Thai Ministry of Commerce will be hosting "Thailand International Logistics Fair 2013" in Bangkok earlier next month to boost logistic connections among ASEAN nations and six other non-member countries, a government media resource has said.
The Thai Ministry of Commerce will be hosting "Thailand International Logistics Fair 2013" in Bangkok earlier next month to boost logistic connections among ASEAN nations and six other non-member countries, a government media resource has said.

According to the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), the fair will be held from September 4-7, 2013 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre under the joint efforts of over 20 public and private organisations.

The event will be biggest ever this year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its existence.

The focus will be on promoting transnational logistics links among ASEAN members, and between the grouping and its partners, including Australia , China , New Zealand , Japan , India and the Republic of Korea .

The fair will also test the grouping’s readiness for the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) to be realised in 2015.

Logistics experts from ASEAN plus six have been invited to exchange ideas and experiences at the fair.

Logistics-related products and innovations will be displayed at the event, which will be held on the 9,600 square meters of the BITEC exhibition hall. It is expected to attract over 10,000 visitors.-VNA
