Thailand is keen on becoming the logistics hub in ASEAN region due to its geographical advantage.
The country has high possibility to be a logistics hub in the region because it has the geographical advantage bordering with Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar and Vietnam, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said at the exhibition on the ASEAN Economic Community which opened in Bangkok on October 28.
The 10-day event, which also drew the participation of some ASEAN member countries, is designed to promote understanding among Thai enterprises about ASEAN integration by 2015.
It showcases 12 industrial clusters’ supply chains and information on each industry in other ASEAN nations.
The Thai government is ready to go ahead with its 2-trillion baht transportation-infrastructure project as the means to prepare for enhanced Thai-ASEAN links and liberalised trade with both ASEAN and non-ASEAN partners.-VNA
