An Amazing Thailand Road Show is being held in Jordan and Egypt with the participation of a delegation of eight selected Thai tourism product and service providers, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
The two countries are considered new sources of lucrative tourist markets for Thailand, Deputy Governor for International Marketing of TAT Juthaporn Rerngronasa was quoted by Thai media as saying.
The November 24-26 road show is to build on the presence of Thailand as a destination for world class holiday options, especially for honeymooners looking to enjoy a wide range of travel experiences in Thai cultural life, the official added.
The event presents a wide variety of tourism products and services in major tourist destinations of Thailand, including Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Hua Hin. It was a part of the new Discover Thainess campaign, which builds on the essence of "Thainess" through the Thai way of life, Thai culture and Thai experiences.
TAT will also introduce the campaign to other countries aiming to bring back foreign visitors to Thailand in 2015 after a gloomy year which expected a decrease of nearly three million to 25 million tourists from 2013 due to the political disputes.
Tourism revenue in this year is expected to reach at 1.9 trillion THB, however, TAT is targeting to 2.2 trillion THB next year.-VNA
