The Thai cabinet made thedecision at a meeting on July 20 after it found the situation in theprovinces was under control, the Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.
However, the state of emergency is still in force in thecapital city of Bangkok and 15 other provinces as protesters werereported to remain security threats in these localities.
The emergency decree was originally imposed in Bangkok and 23other provinces on April 7 to control the anti-government “red-shirt”protesters.
On July 6, the Thai government decidedto lift the emergency decree in five provinces, but extended it in theothers./.
