Mae Hong Son (NNT/ VNA) - Thailand and Myanmar held the 37th Border Consortium (TBC) discussion on cooperation along the shared border on November 27.
Thai and Myanmar officials attended the 37th TBC meeting, hosted by Thailand in Mae Hong Son province, to discuss information exchange and enhancement in the bilateral cooperation in all aspects.
The meeting discussed the relations of both countries' armed forces in border areas, a bilateral strong village campaign, joint operations to prevent drugs and weapons smuggling, the enhancement in trade, investment, tourism, sports, and cultural cooperation and the plan to upgrade Huai Ton Noon (BP13) temporary border checkpoint as a permanent one.
The armed forces of both sides have been cooperating well with each other toward a peaceful and orderly situation in border areas and aiming to enhance the cooperation for mutual benefits in the future.-NNT/VNA
