Thai Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha eyes to boost tourism in 2015by offering special incentives to overseas tourists who are about toleave Thailand on the occasion of the New Year 2015.
After ameeting with Gen Prayut, Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Minister of Tourismand Sports, revealed that the incentives will be offered to foreigntourists from all markets and groups. However, information on the giftsis yet to be disclosed.
For local tourists, the minister saidlong-term plans have been implemented to boost tourism throughout theyear. The ministry has cooperated with the Thai Bankers’ Association toexempt service charges for cash withdrawals from ATMs of the same bankat any branches across Thailand .
Similarly, BTS will extendits service until 2 am on December 31, 2014 and January 1, 2015 tocreate more convenience for New Year revellers.
