Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand’s police have seized more than 14,000 fake and smuggled cosmetic products worth 3.6 million THB (about 101,900 USD) in a raid on a Chinese-owned warehouse in Bangkok's Lat Krabang district, reported local media.

The inspection was conducted on January 28 after the owner of a cosmetic brand, "Ela Rae", called on the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) to investigate an online cosmetic shop on TikTok named "LUNA-TH" that sold items imitating Ela Rae's.

A person who looks after the warehouse said the fake products belonged to a Chinese businessman who imported a lot of cosmetic goods popular on Chinese social media platforms. Up to 10,000 product units are sold daily, according to the warehouse worker.

The confiscated items will be examined by the Ministry of Public Health's Department of Medical Sciences to see if there are any illegal substances./.
