BoI Secretary General Udom Wongviwatchaisaid 147 investment projects sought BoI privileges in July, the highestnumber in the first seven months of this year.
Inthe first seven months, 770 projects worth 372 billion baht applied forBoI privileges. They involved metal products, machines and transportequipment, service and public utility, chemical products, paper, plasticand farm products.
During the time, the country had447 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a combined investmentvalue of 261 billion baht, Udom said.
Japan remainsthe largest foreign investor, with 220 projects totalling 89.9 billionbaht. The Republic of Korea proposed 27 projects, while Americans had 16projects and Europeans 70 projects.-VNA
