Education Minister Chaturon Chaisaengearlier met with Indranee Rajah, Senior Minister of State, Ministry ofLaw and Ministry of Education of Singapore to further bilateralknowledge exchange in education.
According to Chaturon,collaboration in vocational education and use of IT in education will betwo matters that are urgently pursued. His meeting with theSingaporean education executives yielded the conclusion that theMinistry of Education needs to seek input from the private sector toimprove the curricula at vocational institutes. The demands of theprivate sector will be used as the basis for curricula development,training, and evaluation.
Thailand will also be usingSingapore's model as a basis in curricula adjustment, and Singapore willbe providing teachers to help train Thai instructors at selectedinstitutes where the new curricula will be piloted.-VNA
