Six “yellow shirt” leaders were given two-year jail terms on May 28 for breaking into the prime minister’s office during massive anti-government protests in Thailand in 2008.
The six, including Sondhi Limthonkul, leader of the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) or the Yellow Shirts, were accused of leading the protestors to trespass at the Government House during a 2008 rally.
They were released after posting 6,000 USD bail each but banned from travelling overseas.
Sondhi and dozens of other Yellow Shirts also face terrorism charges over the occupation of airports in Bangkok in 2008, which stranded thousands of tourists.-VNA
